Old Dingri - EBC Trekking

 

 

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa

Arrive in Lhasa at 12:00, transfer to hotel and relax a couple of hours. Guided sightseeing tour of Jokhang Temple and Bhakor street, the central cathedral of Tibet, Bhakhor, the bustling Lhasa market encircling the Jokhang Temple.  Overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Lhasa Day Tour

Visit Potala Palace in the morning. In the afternoon, visit Sera Monatery and catch the afternoon monk's debate. Overnight in hotel.

Day 3: Lhasa Day Tour

Visit Drepung monastery, the biggest monastic university of Tibet & then visit Nechung Nunnery, Nunnery of the state oracles of Tibet.  Overnight in hotel.

Day 4: LHASA -YAMDROK LAKE - GYANGTSE (3850M) (260KM)

Drive via Yamdrok Tso, the Turquoise Lake to Gyantse across Kampa-la (5050 m) & Karo-la pass (5045 m). On the way, we will see the view of Mount Nojin Kangtsen Glacier, falling down near the road and drive to Gyantse. Visit Kubum Stupa & Pelkor Chode Monastery. We will drive drive to Shigatse late evening. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5: Shigatse - Old Dingri. 300

Visit,the seat of Panchen Lama who is the 2nd hieghet rakning in the Tibetan Buddhist religious hierarchy. We will take half an hour to visit Shigatse's Tibetan market. We will drive to Old Dingri just after lunch via Tsou-la pass (4500 m) and Gyatso-la pass (5220 m).  

Day 6 : Trek to Lungthang (4510 m) 3.5 hours/12km

Our trek begin from Old Tingri along the Ra-chu Valley, we will see the beautiful valley scenery with extensive meadows and groups of sheep and goats. Throughout the day we can visit a small Gompa (monastery) in Chholun. Tonight we will camp in Lunthang, a pleasant region which is home to herders and barley harvesters. 

Day 7: Trek to Rongphu via Lamna La Pass (5150 m) 6-7 hours/21km

The challenging trekking really starts today as we go up into the mountains. Much uphill walking is done as we climb towards the top of Lamna La. Meet up with the driver and drive up to Rombuk and Everest base camp, Guest house in Rombuk or Camp EBC.

Day 8: Trek to EBC View Point. (5200 m) 3Hours

Wake up in the early morning, go to EBC to see the stunning sunrise at Mt.everest. All in all it is highest peak on earth. Walk a little bit in front of it and take some picture of its North face. At Geu la pass (5200m) where you can have a glimpse of 4 mountains which is 8000m high or more, i.e. Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Choyo (8201m), Mt.makalu (8463m). We drive back to Shigatse early evening. Overnight in hotel.

Day 9: Shigatse to Lhasa 270km. 6hours

We will drive back to Lhasa along the Yarlung Tsangpo River and beautiful landscape.

 

Day 10: Transfer to Train/ Airport

We will send you to Train station or Airport to connect your next destination.
